Applefest 2014

Once again this year, Applefest in Brighton was a huge success and the weather was perfect. As part of our ongoing effort to educate the general public, the Presqu'ile Point Lighthouse Preservation Society were active in two locations over the weekend. On Saturday, we were at the Main Street Applefest display and on both Saturday and Sunday, we were at the Car Show location. As you can by our photo (below) with volunteers Nancy Westacott and our new Chair, Spencer Dennis, we had quite the display.

Not only were we successful at spreading the word, we were also able to raise over $3,500 profit as a result of our 2014 Applefest Raffle ticket sales. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out at the two locations.

Here are the winners of our prizes:

• Prize #1 - Over $1,000 of prepaid Credit Card cash from Fallsview Casino. The winner was Kate Pechmann from Brampton.
• Prize #2 - the handcrafted wooden replica of our Presqu'ile Point Lighthouse won by Cathy Kuipers from Brighton.
• Prize #3 - the framed print of our lighthouse was won by Anita Windsor from Brighton.
• Prize #4 - the 2015 12 month Season's Pass for all the Ontario Parks was won by Derek Anger from Toronto.
